Getting real = healing the past = portal to the future

Happy February!! How was January for you? Did it fly by? Was it productive? How was last week's full moon eclipse week for you? Any unexpected news, dramatic change, endings or new beginnings? If so, I'd love to hear about it!! We definitely felt a shift in the 3.0 community. We had lots of big shares, wins, struggles, and full classes last week. It's the first time I felt a surge of energy in the community since the year started. I'm excited to keep the momentum going.

As you probably know by now, the work I do with my 1:1 clients, SOfit 3.0, and at the SOfit retreat is about SO much more than physical workouts. We integrate physical fitness, yoga philosophy (8 limbs of yoga), life coaching, therapy, and a little dash of mystical magic :)

The goal is to get fit and HEAL - physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. 

In SOfit 3.0, I constantly push everyone to bring the realness. This includes sharing real stories, being authentically yourself, and breaking through resistances around showing up. This is because we are doing the work as a group, a community. If only a part of the group is getting deep, gritty, and real with it while another part is not - it creates separation. It can hold us back from growing as a group. The reason why I switched over to a commitment only format (3.0) is so that we ALL have equal skin in the game. I only wanted to work with folks who are willing to truly show up. 

Here is the reason WHY we need to get real.

A line in my extended philosophy says "healing the past is a portal to the future"...

You see, sharing our stories is one of the ways we HEAL. When we show up, share, and get REAL within our safe spaces and communities, space is held for us to let these stories go. This provides empathy, which leads to healing. Shame releases from our psyche and body because shame cannot exist where there is empathy

I encourage our 3.0 community to share. Rather than analyzing old tapes from childhood (and beyond), I teach that we can erase it by recording a new one. No matter how factually true our story is, it is still a story. Spiritual growth involves GIVING UP the stories of our past so we can write a new one. We are not denying our childhood or our past - we are transcending any of its negative aspects. The negative aspects are what become the unconscious thoughts that play in the background of our minds, day in and day out. 

Why do we need to heal?

Healing the past is a portal to the future. When we heal the past, we can be happy. We can stop self-sabotaging, have that healthy relationship, get that dream job, tune into abundance, and break the cycles that keep us suffering. We all have the cycles. Most of us aren't even aware of them. 

Can I heal without a community?

Of course. Go inward. Spend time with yourself. You can begin the journey of self-discovery and healing between you and your journal. I'll get you started with a few journaling prompts below.

  1. Free write -- What's your story? Who are you and how did you get here? 
  2. What would you like to set free from your past?
  3. How and where are you holding on to shame?
    Let these stories go, they don't serve you. Less judgement, more self-love, more compassion....
  4. If you can write your future story, how would it read?
    1 year from now, 5 years from now, 10 years from now...

As Marianne Williamson says, "You are a divine being and are naturally entitled to miracles".  You can heal. Show up for yourself, let go, and rewrite your story. Heal the past because it's a portal to the future. It's never too late and it's never too early :)

We have 7 more weeks to go for the first trimester of SOfit 3.0. I will be opening up classes to the public again in March for those who are interested in joining us in the Spring. I will also offer an option for people to work with us remotely. We are currently testing this format with a handful of people all over the Bay area and Los Angeles. It's a beautiful thing to watch us all hold space for each other and grow, even when we are not physically together.
